Mine All Mine!

I sold my black Mercedes C230 last Saturday through Craigslist and cried as I pulled away from the buyer's house. I covered my head with the bill of sale and bawled in Jason's truck as we pulled away and he asked what he could do to make me feel better. I felt like such a dork, but I get very emotionally attached to things like that. That Benz was a big part of my life, it represented a lot of Seattle to me and starting my life over in Tennessee. We drove that baby all the way here and it's been good to me for the last number of years I've had it.

Jason asked if we stopped for a coconut frosted donut from my favorite donut shop, would that make me feel better?! My answer of course, "Abso-freakin-lutely!"

So with red-rimmed and puffy eyes, I drowned my sorrows in this.....
(ok, but really just one) I believe the cars I've driven over the years have represented the different seasons of my life.

First, there was the 79 Datsun 280Z. My car of independence and life as a teenager. Boy did the fellas like this car. I had to learn to drive a stick and only paid $800 for it off a friend of my dad's. For some reason the starter was never quite dependable, so I also learned how to hotwire it with a screwdriver :-)
Next there was the 85 Toyota Camry. I had this car when I first moved out on my own. Through another connection of my dad's, I bought this grandma car for $8,000. It was comfy though and extremely reliable. I had this baby from my early to mid-twenties and I later ended up selling it to my sister Kris. Memories of trips to the rodeo and out to Spokane come to mind with this one. After the Camry, I decided I wanted to pick out my own car and went all out and bought a black 1999 Mercedes C230 from a friend at work for $20K. I was making good money, had a great job, an apartment and loving the single life. This car was so good to me and rode awesome. It took me into my next stage of life of meeting Jason and driving me out to Tennessee. Now, five days later, I am the proud and very excited owner of a gorgeous 2002 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4! This will be the car that we tote around our two Labrador puppies (once we get them) and our first couple chillins (down the road). It gives us years of room to grow into. There will be camping trips with this one, taking the dogs to the park, bringing babies home from the hospital, driving out to the beach, family vacations.... I'm looking forward to the years to come!

Oh because I'm sure you're just dying to know....

What are your middle names? Mine is Dawn and Jason's is Ross.

How long have you been together? We've been together for 4 years, married for 3.

How long did you know each other before you started dating? Jason and I met online through ChristianCafe.com He emailed me after seeing my profile and I emailed him back. We chatted online for a week and then talked on the phone for a week. After that we felt that we should meet in person out in my hometown Seattle to see if there was anything to this. We began seeing each other right after that. :-)

Who asked whom out? Jason initiated by emailing me first and offering to come out to Seattle to meet me.

How old are each of you? I'm 30 and Jason is 37.

Whose siblings do you see the most? We see our families equally when we can afford a trip out to either Seattle or Clovis, CA or they head out our way. We miss them all like crazy.

Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple? Our work schedules. We have to be extremely intentional and understanding with what little time we do get together. But we know its only for a season.

Did you go to the same school? Nope. I went to a private school back in Washington and then homeschooled most of my high school years and then Jason went to a public school down in Clovis, CA.

Are you from the same home town? Again, no. Bothell, WA = me; Clovis, CA = him.

Who is smarter? I would say Jason for sure because the man has a memory like no other.

Who is the most sensitive? I would say we're both equally sensitive.

Where do you eat out most as a couple? It really varies. If we eat out, its usually for a special occasion. We try to eat at home most of the time to cut down on the spending. But we love finding a really good restaurant and right now are in love with the Park Cafe in Sylvan Park.

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? Cabo for our honeymoon. But I would love to go to Europe with him.

Who has the craziest exes? Oh I think Jason wins that one hands down.

Who has the worst temper? I'm going to say Jason, but he might say me. Nothing gets Jason worked up more than "stupid people".

Who does the cooking? We both enjoy cooking equally.

Who is the neat-freak? (*Uh-hum*) Take a wild guess.

Who is more stubborn? Both of us, though Jason would definitely say I'm more stubborn. My point exactly.

Who hogs the bed? Definitely me. Hey, I was single for 26 years, can you blame me!?

Who wakes up earlier? For sure me, but only because I work in the morning. If we had the same schedule, we both would be getting out of bed at noon. Neither one of us are morning people at all.

Where was your first date? Sonics game, floor seats. It was awesome.

Who is more jealous? I wouldn't say either one of us are particularly jealous people.

How long did it take to get serious? Not long at all. We weren't interested in dating recreationally, we cut to the chase and wanted to find out if we were both going in the same direction and wanted the same things.

Who eats more? He does.

Who does the laundry? Both of us. I know, I'm spoiled :-)

Who’s better with the computer? That would be my department.

Who drives when you are together? I usually have him drive, only cause he's always known Nashville better than me and I get flustered when taking directions from him. I'd rather just relax in the passenger seat.

Valentines Fun!

This last Friday night was our Small Group Girl's Valentines Night. Julie & I were brainstorming on what to plan for a girls night and came up with celebrating Valentines together over at her house. The girls were invited to come dressed in red, pink & white jammies, where we going to frost heart-shaped sugar cookies and watch chick flicks.
Five of us stayed overnight and we were up talking till 5am!!!!
Melanie C took a bunch of awesome pics while were cookie decorating, so I'll explain everyone from left to right in the pics.

Here's myself with Tabby and her friend Katie, who were part of the clan that crashed with us overnight. Melanie S. & Melanie C. Melanie C & IdaThey kept calling me Martha Stewart cause I went all OCD on the frosting.
